20p with no date is worth a small fortune!

Last year the royal mint brought out a brand new 20p coin with part of a sheild on it..

They made the mistake of using the casting die from the old 20p on the monarch side of the coin, consequently there is no date present.

These coins are in circulation but are rare, if you find one in your change then its worth £50-£80.

There are estimated to be between 100,000 and 200,000 of these coins in circulation. Given that there are 1,300,000,000 20p pieces in circulation it means that 1 in every 8667 is affected.

I stumbled across musicMagpie.co.uk website the other day, in a nut shell, its a site that will buy all your unwanted dvd's, cd's and games from you. Great thing is, you can type a barcode in on there website and it will tell you what they will pay for it. Now all you need is a source of cheap or better still free dvd's.

Well I just stumbled across this intresting website called futuregame.com. Whats that I hear you say!?. Well its a website that you can play a nice simple hi-lo guessing game of money-markets (amungst other things) for free. To quote what they have on their website;

£850+ in two months

As a previous post stated, I would post when I manged to get the funds together to build a new computer. Well, I have already done that and its cost me £850 'ish. It took around two months to make that money playing skill games, not bad for an initial £10 out lay to play eh :o).

Here is the spec of the computer I just bought with the money;

Came to a grand total of £830. I have it all built and its now I am typing to you lot on this right now (still using my old monitor, keyboard and mouse). All in all its a wonderful bit of kit.

If I must be honest about this little project, it was indeed very profitable. I am now in a postion where I can play the odd hour and make more money then I spend each day!. Well worth a try if your up for it. Before I sign out for the day, here be a picture of my new beast!

A small update

Just a quick note to say that this blog has just undergone a minor makeover. Changed a few colours and location of a few things. Have also added a few gadgets for news aggrogator sites to boost traffic.

On top of that I have converted one of my prizes into real cash, a whopping £5 for the DVD that was won here.

Now this might be something that would interest you, the adverts on this blog are generating me money every time someone clicks them!. Since I have added them I have earnt just over $50 (about £25). If you have a website yourself, AdSense is something that is well worth setting up.

I hope to get a few more posts up soon to show what I have been working on but as for now its time for my bed.

Get your own premium phone number!

Believe it or not there is a way to profit from phone callers!, and here's how too, more or less. This will cost you a one time setup fee tho, with no monthly fee. So if you don't wish to part with any money at all just skip right past this post!.

How it works...

1. Obtain a premium rate phone number that direct to your home line, keeping you home number secret.
   
2. When a company asks you for you phone number, pass out the premium rate one.
3. When ever they feel like phoning you up sit back and profit. On average it looks like you can make from about 4p/min while people calling the number are charged 10p/min.
   

This works for a number of reasons...

• Most company's that call you do it via staff who don't care what number they are phoning, its just there job to phone and do what ever there company campaign is. (e.g. offer upgrades, price cuts or sell you more junk etc)
  
• If a company really wants to contact you and they have the premium number but don't want to use it, they could always write to you instead!.
  

Things to think about...

• Should you get a strange look when handing out your premium number, point out there phone number on there helpline! (more than likely a premium number of sorts).

At the time of writing this, I myself have managed to set a premium number up for £11.69 (including vat). This number is redirected to my BT land line. The premium number starts with 0871.
Now when ever I enter a compo online, free promotion that seek my details or buy something from a company that wants my number, I hand out this number instead.
I will be making 4p/min should they call me on this number now, not bad for a tenner I say. Doing the sums, I need just under 293 min's (about 4.9hrs) of people talking on the number to make it pay for it's self. Anything after that is profit.
